Dylan Dog

2013(?) - 10th May 2024

A wonderful boy who gave his heart to everyone he met and took theirs in return.

We adopted Dylan on the 18th August 2019, with his age estimated at 6. At the time his Daddy was severely depressed and he needed a lovely Staffy boy in his life. Dylan looked just like Arnie, his Daddy's first dog growing up. He was a massive help.

He loved to play with balls of all sizes, stop frequently on walks to fully analyse all the scents in the area, and swiftly devour any food placed in front of him. But most of all he loved his Mummy and Daddy, especially Mummy who had him as a shadow for five years. He suffered badly from separation anxiety and was always very sad whenever Mummy was at work.

Sadly he was at the peak of his health during the COVID Pandemic, and didn't get to explore the world as much as he should. After the pandemic, he was starting to develop arthritis which began to severely limit his mobility. Eventually he developed balance issues as well and couldn't stand unsupported.

He could no longer do any of the things he loved, except chilling in bed with Mummy and Daddy and stuffing his face. He had to be carried everywhere he needed to go and held up when eating, drinking or relieving himself. In his last week we spent every hour by his side and fed him with steaks and sausages.

On the final morning we woke early to spend time with him. He was having one of his very rare good days and we had a lovely cuddle session on the sofa. We were able to spend a little time in the garden in the sun before his legs gave out for the day. Daddy was even able to play chase with him as he sought to protect his ball at all costs.

He always liked going to the vets and meeting all the nice people who fussed over him. They made sure he was completely comfortable and he went to sleep peacefully in Mummy and Daddy's arms. We know that his legs and balance have been restored to him over the rainbow bridge and we will always remember him.

Our lovely boy had his health issues which stopped him enjoying life as much as he deserved, but he was loved SO MUCH, and spoiled rotten as only an only child can be. We'll miss you forever Dilly Dog. Rest in Peace my sweet handsome man, we love you.
